K. Caraccio is a studio, workshop, gallery, educational facility dedicated to printmaking, investing in the most sustainable printmaking practices available. Kathy Caraccio, the owner and founder of the studio, is a master printer, artist, curator and professor. She has BFA from Herbert Lehman College, was trained in etching color print with Maria Samosa (El Museo del Barrio, NYC, 1972-3), in viscosity printing with Arun Bose and Krishna Reddy (NYC, 1972-3), papermaking by Zarina Hashmi (NYC, 1979), and in Hanga (Japanese water based woodblock printing) with Sensei Toshi Yoshida (Nagano – Japan, 1984).
K. Caraccio Studio was founded in 1977 and houses a collection of more than 4.000 prints - available for both research and sale. Over three hundred artists have editioned in the studio, such as Louise Nevelson, Robert Kipniss, Emma Amos, Sol LeWitt, Malcolm Morley, Mel Bochner, Romare Bearden and Jackie Battenfield.
